Studley Castle - you exceeded my expectations
We had never been on a Warners break before as we thought we weren't old enough yet !
I'm so glad we gave it a go !
Lots to do and the food was plentiful , varied and of a good standard on the whole.
Our waitress was brilliant - as were most of the staff we met.
The pool and gym were lovely and as our room was close by I went every morning at 7am for a swim before breakfast in one of the fluffy bathrobes provided.
We tried archery and shooting and even did an exercise class - all firsts for me.
The best part of the stay for us was the picture lounge which was more to our liking than the evening entertainment. We caught up on several films we had not seen before on cosy sofas.
We have already booked our next break with Warners - that says it all really.
Our second stay at Studley, this time a 2 day birthday treat. As before everything was great, couldn't fault it, nice bedroom,
Food was of a high standard as was the entertainment, on the 1st night they had the resident band who were good and a great 4 piece male band called Troubadour, who were excellent. We treated ourselves to a full body massage which was very nice. As with our last visit, the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
Will now consider another Warners but I think we will struggle to beat this one.
New Year Celebrations
My wife and I, along with our friends enjoyed three nights over the new year. Parking was plentiful and our luggage was swiftly whisked away. After a smooth check in, we were treated to a glass of bubbly and shortbread biscuits. We then strolled down to the Arden a la carte restaurant and were offered free turkey and stuffing baps which went down a treat.
This restaurant is incorporated into a large lounge area with lovely views over the countryside, although we did consider it to be a bit on the cool side.
Our room was on the first floor, had a balcony and distant rural views. Everything was very nice and the only thing we could be picky about was the fact that the wardrobe doors opened outwards and restricted the passage to the bathroom. Sliding doors would have been better.
On the whole we found the hotel well run and all of the staff were very pleasant and efficient.
The entertainment was very good as was the excellent choice and quality of food.
The only thing we were disappointed with was the fact that a fair number of people made no effort to dress up for New Years Eve and we certainly didn't expect someone with shorts and trainers. Admittedly there is no dress code but it might be a consideration by Warners for the future.
All in all we enjoyed our break and have re booked for next New Year.
